Mary makes headlines, again

If you missed it, here is a link to a wonderful essay about Mary’s virgin birth, published on the front page of The Wall Street Journal‘s Review section, in its Christmas edition (Dec. 24-25, 2022). Mary is still making making headlines.

Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, ‘The Annunciation’ (circa 1660) / Image: Wall Street Journal, Dec. 24-25, 2022.

The subhead on the piece, written by author Dr. Rebecca McLaughlin, reads: “Two thousand years ago, a young woman in an obscure corner of the Roman Empire received a message that would change the world.” McLaughlin penned “Confronting Christianity: Twelve Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion.”

Dr. McLaughlin’s book “Is Christmas Unbelievable? Four Questions Everyone Should Ask About the World’s Most-Famous Story,” is next on my list to read.

The essay points to the significance of Mary’s role in the history of the world. She is truly the most important and influential woman who ever lived.

I am hoping to bring more knowledge about the Virgin Mary to the world, especially during these times when we need her most.
