Eight days after Christmas Day, on the first day of January and at the close of the Christmas octave, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God. This is the day we celebrate Mary’s divine maternity.
I continue to wonder how, as just a young girl, Mary’s faith allowed her to take on such an unknown future. And yet, she agreed to become the Mother of Jesus on – what do we call it? – blind faith? And through her “yes,” we get closer to Jesus.
In answering God’s call and playing the most integral role in God’s plan for our salvation, she became the most important woman who ever lived.
I am hoping to bring more knowledge about the Virgin Mary to the world, especially during these times when we need her most.
